On Thursday, December 16th, 2021, Judy Rapada, 77, passed away on Bainbridge Island, WA. Judy was born on February 8th, 1944, on Bainbridge Island to parents Evelyn Bob and William Casimir.
The family relocated and Judy attended Seashell School in Vancouver Island during her primary years and St. Mary’s school in Mission Canada for elementary and middle school years. She later returned to the Seattle area, where she attended Franklin and Bainbridge Island High Schools. Upon graduation, Judy attended Edison Technology School in Seattle.
On September 14, 1962, Judy married Jerry Rapada. They had three children: Calvin, Kimi and Kobi Rapada. While raising a family, Judy served as a Secretary for Bainbridge Island School District and the Suquamish Indian Tribe. She was an active participant in her children’s lives, attending all their school and sporting events. Later in life, Judy spent much time with her grandchildren, friends, and family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, antique shopping, playing BINGO, and giving gifts to others.
Predeceased by Kobi Rapada, Judy is survived by her husband, Jerry Rapada, her son Calvin Rapada and his wife Amy Rapada, her daughter Kimi Rapada and her husband Joel Sioson, and grandchildren Zach and Emily Rapada, and Enzo, Rocco, and Juliette Sioson.
A service will be held in Judy’s memory on December 30th at 11:00 at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island. Interment will be held at Island Center Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Filipino Community Hall. Proof of vaccination and masks are required for attendance.
