June Breiland, of Poulsbo, died September 19, at Liberty Shores Assisted living in Poulsbo. She was born on May 15, 1925 in Seattle, the only daughter of Danish immigrants, and lived her entire life in Poulsbo. She attended Grade School at the Lincoln School, and graduated from the North Kitsap Union High School in the class of 1942. June attended business school in Seattle, and worked for a period of time at the Keyport Naval Base.
On November 18, 1944 she married Emil Breiland, who also worked at Keyport and was from Manchester, near Port Orchard. They lived in the same house on 9th avenue in Poulsbo for over 65 years. Together they raised their three children, Ken, Gary, and Candy, as well as well as making a home for one year for Alois Karlbauer from Austria.
June worked for the Chevron Distributor's both in Poulsbo and Bremerton and in later years was a volunteer at the First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo, where she had been a member for 75 years. She was also a long time member of the Poulsbo Sons of Norway. Much of her free time was spent doing needlework.
In her later years, after Emil had died, she went on several cruises, which she enjoyed immensely.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emil, and her son Gary.
June is survived by two children, Ken (Deborah) and Candy (Bill), four grandchildren, Beth (Gavin), Brenda (Phillip), Anna-Lisa (Aaron), and Kjell (Fran) as well as six great grandchildren.
At her request, there will not be a service.
