Larew Warren Wheaton

"Larry", of Poulsbo, died peacefully on September 18, 2008. He was born May 9, 1926 in New Jersey to Lillian and Edmund Wheaton. He attended New Jersey College of Engineering and received his Masters in Engineering from Yale University. He was a retired Major in the US Army and retired from his job as a financial analyst with Chevron Oil Company. Larry left New Jersey in 1969 for Tehran, Iran, then transferred to Sausalito, California in 1974. He retired to Bainbridge Island in 1996, and relocated to Poulsbo in 2004. Larry's spent his retirement years following the stock market, renewing old acquaintances, playing computer games and was a member of the Bainbridge Gourmet Club, enjoying wonderful meals with friends. Larry is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Alan Sanborn of Aurora, Colorado and Cynthia and Daniel Whiteman of DeLeon Springs, Florida. He will be remember by his grandchildren Christina Sanborn Gomez, and her husband Paul Gomez, and Douglas Sanborn PFC US Army, one great granddaughter Felice Maricela Gomez, and his stepmother, Florence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie. A private family burial service will be held in Northfield, Minnesota per Larry's wishes.
