"Luci" passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 peacefully in her home at the age of 91.She was born in Hurley, Wisconsin on June 24, 1917.Luci was the daughter of Chris and Virginia Biasi Tomazolli. When she was a year old, her father died in the1918 flu epidemic and left her mother to care for two daughters. Her mother then married her husband's brother, Joseph, and he helped raise Luci and her sister, Lena.Luci attended Lents Grammar School and graduated from Franklin High School in Portland, Oregon. After high school, she went to work for SH Kress in Portland.In 1939, she married Glenn Nolta and they moved to Bainbridge Island in 1952. They owned and operated the Lynwood Variety Store for a number of years along with the Lynwood Theatre for 32 years where she was known as "the popcorn lady." She was also a good listener to the many kids who came to the theatre.She was a 56 year member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and a 40 year Bainbridge Island Rotary Auction volunteer.She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, and her sister Lena. She is survived by son, Gary (Paula) of Bainbridge Island, daughters Linda Rogers (Steve Elmore) of Apache Junction, Arizona, Glenda Allan (John) of Bothell, and Sherry Shellman (John) of Shoreline, six grandchildren, Craig, Karena, Jenna, Holly, Eric, Derek and 1 great grandson, CJ.Luci will be forever missed and loved by the many lives she touched. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30am Saturday November 15 at St. Cecilia Church on Bainbridge Island, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Helpline House, 282 Knechtel Way NE Bainbridge Island or Bainbridge Island Fire Department, 8895 Madison Ave. NE.
