"Tony" passed away May 26, 2008 at his home on Bainbridge Island. He was born June 14, 1911 and was 96 years old. Tony was born in Bacnotan La Union, Philippines to Martin Corpuz Oligario and Inocencia Oligario. Tony traveled to the United States in 1927 by boat which landed in Los Angeles, CA. He then came to Bainbridge Island to work with his brother and uncle at Pleasant Beach Gardens. Tony made his home on Bainbridge Island in 1955. He also worked at Puget Sound Navel Shipyard as a welder where he retired in 1978. Throughout his life he grew strawberries, raspberries and various vegetables which he sold to the local grocery stores. He was the active member and the last founding member of Filipino American Community of Bainbridge Island and vicinity. He was also a member of the Acacia Lodge of Seattle. He was a very social man. He loved meeting new people and made friends easily. Tony is survived by his wife of 16 years, Beatriz Bermudez Oligario of Bainbridge Island, brothers Marcelino Oligario of Edmunton, Canada, Alfredo of LaUnion Philippines, sisters Mercedes Torre and Aurea Bucsit of La Union Philippines, granddaughter, Rhonda Williams, great-grandson Elijiah Williams many nieces and nephews, Cecilia Kakela, Domingo Almirol, John "Sonny" Oligario, JoAnn Oligario, Sharon Smith, Karen Johnson, Barbara Chapman, Bonnie Calloway, Alice Dunlap, Leilani Burley and many grand nephews and grand nieces.He is predeceased by his daughters, Leslie Oligario and Lois Oligario, wives Thelma and Benveneda Oligario, brother Alipio "John" Oligario, and nephew Lawrence Oligario.A Rosary and Viewing will held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island from 6:30-8:30pm on Friday May 30. A funeral mass will beheld on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St Cecilia Catholic church. A reception at the American-FIlipiano Hall will take place following the graveside service at Seabold Cemetery.Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
