On July 30th at 2 pm, Martine Elaine Lawrence-Grant (Marti) passed away after a 6-year battle with Leukemia. Her last moments were spent surrounded by close friends and in her son's arms.

Marti was born on October 30th, 1946 in Seattle, WA, and was adopted at birth by Jim and Roberta Lawrence. Marti and her sister Barbara (who was also adopted) grew up in a very loving home in West Seattle. After graduating from Chief Sealth high-school Marti pursued a college education in London, New Orleans, Atlanta, Santa Barbara, Seattle, and Bellingham. In 1978 Marti and Lee had their only child William Blaine Lawrence-Grant (Willy) on Bainbridge Island.

In 1984 Marti and Lee entered the restaurant world together opening 9 restaurants over the next 22 years. This included founding the That's A Some Pizza and That's A Some Italian restaurant chain. Marti also helped her son Willy open 3 different restaurants including Sourdough Willy's in Kingston.

Marti had many passions in her life. She loved to fly and was a pilot before she could drive. She enjoyed many fishing adventures with her husband Lee. She had some amazing friendships that spanned her whole life that she truly loved as family. The last 12 years were especially fulfilling to Marti, being an amazing Nana her granddaughter Angie.
