Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened. Dr. Seuss
Mary, was described once by a friend as "a sweet and tender soul." She never had anything bad to say about anyone, and
always had a smile for all who came near.
She spent her entire career in the nursing field. Working in hospitals, then with developmentally disabled children before
earning her masters so she could fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a school nurse.
Gospel and bluegrass were her favorite musical genres, which she loved playing on the violin. Her love of bluegrass inspired
her to learn to play the fiddle, when she was in her seventies.
Being such a quiet and mild-mannered person, one would not expect her to have such an adventurous spirit. With the love
of her life Fred-- they fished, traveled, camped, and square-danced-- their way through life.
Mary had a very full life. She asked for so little, but gave so very much.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island, WA
