Mary Florence Mcqueen Faille

d. January 28, 2013

passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at home with her family around her.Mary was born on August 20, 1934 in Billings, Montana to Florence (Shields) McQueen and Eugene McQueen. She lived in various places in Montana and Wyoming before the family settled in Seattle, where Mary attended grade school at St. Edward's School. After graduation, she continued her Catholic education at Holy Names Academy. Mary met her future husband, Larry Faille, at the Columbia City Library. The two married and raised four children in South Seattle. It was at that time that Mary developed her lifelong love of sewing. When Mary and Larry retired from Boeing, they built the Gamble Bay waterfront home she was living in when she passed. Their retirement years were filled with friends, family (six grandchildren), and lots of travel. During retirement, Mary continued to dabble in sewing and became an avid quilter. With quilting as her new passion, Mary spent hours creating countless quilts, most of which she gave away to family, friends, and people who touched her life. Some quilts were donated to special causes like fundraisers at Bishop Blanchet High School, Holy Names Academy, and O'Dea High School, hospital-bound babies, and soldiers serving overseas. Mary's work earned her several blue ribbons in quilting competitions. Her colleagues in the Crazy Quilters and the Kitsap Quilters sewing groups were some of her best friends for all the years she lived in Kingston.Mary is survived by her children Kathy Pryor, Toni Gore and Jim (Denise) Faille; her grandchildren Jennifer (Carlo) Marquez, Lauren Gore, Danielle Faille, Brian Faille, Anne Pryor, Jack Pryor; and her beloved great granddaughter Sadie. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Cummins and sisters-in-law Margo (Larry) Elton and Renee Faille, as well as her niece and nephews and great nephew.
