Melvin Meyer

passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Island Health and Rehabilitation on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born on February 22, 1911 in Harrisville, Wisconsin. He was 101 years of age.Melvin retired as manager of Sealtest Dairy in Milwaukee, WI. He and his wife later moved to Bainbridge Island to be near family. Melvin volunteered many hours of service at the Helpline House Food Bank and the P-Patch Garden in Winslow. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, fishing, his family and picnics.Melvin is survived by his wife Dorothy Meyer of Bainbridge Island, stepdaughter's Jeaneen Schmidt (Kevin) of Bainbridge Island, Kathy Hanson (Bill) of Sacramento, California, grandchildren: Becky Muses and BJ Hanson of Sacramento, and step daughter Noreen Braswell of Royston, Georgia. There are 5 total grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many family members in Wisconsin and Oklahoma.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church on Bainbridge Island.
