Michael Gardner Lampert

August 13, 1941 — January 26, 2025

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND

Michael Gardner Lampert, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 83.

Mike was born on August 13, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, to Ray and Lorene Lampert, joining his older sister, Diane. He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane and went on to earn a degree from Eastern Washington University. He began his career at Humble Refining Company and later pursued a master’s degree in business management from Thunderbird Graduate School. After completing his studies, he worked for DuPont until his retirement in 2001.

In 1967, Mike married the love of his life, Mary K. Salter. Together, they raised two daughters, Melinda and Katie, building a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

Mike found joy in life’s simple pleasures—walking the trails of Bainbridge Island, golfing with friends, and spending winters in Palm Desert. Above all, he deeply loved his family and valued the time he spent with them.

Faith was a cornerstone of Mike’s life. He was an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Parish on Bainbridge Island and cherished his Thursday morning gatherings with his men’s group.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Kay Lampert; his daughters, Melinda Ketcheside and Kathryn Stutz; his sons-in-law, Jeffrey Ketcheside and Steven Stutz; and his grandchildren, Madeline Ketcheside, Caroline Ketcheside, Dylan Stutz, and Connor Stutz.

A service celebrating Mike’s life will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Parish Bainbridge Island on March 15th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bainbridge Schools Foundations are suggested.

Arrangements are entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island, WA
