Michika Ishii

of Poulsbo, and recently of Bainbridge Island, died January 6, 2008. She was 85.Michika was born in Fresno, CA; grew up in Goleta; was interned at Gila River in AZ during the war; married in Chicago, IL, and spent most of her adult life in Culver City, CA. She worked for TRW in Redondo Beach until her retirement. She and her husband moved to Poulsbo five years ago to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law. Michika enjoyed living in the NW, but mostly she loved how kind the people were. She was loved by all and her warm smile will be truly missed.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, in 2006, and her son, Russell in 2005. She is survived by her brother, Tony Yamaoka of Roseville, CA, and her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Steve Korn of Bainbridge Island.A private service will be held at Blakely Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff at Island Health and Rehabilitation, Hospice of Kitsap, and Virginia Mason Winslow for their kindness, care and support.Arrangements are by Cook Family Funeral Home.
