age 66, died February 21, 2013 at his Bainbridge Island home surrounded by the love of his family.Neil was born September 26, 1946 in Louisiana and graduated from The University of Florida in 1970. He later moved to Massachusetts and then to Seattle in 1976. Following his move to Seattle, Neil founded two successful corporations in which he took great pride in running hands-on. Neil loved the sun and the surf, and as an avid sailor and active member in the yacht racing community, Neil spent his leisure time restoring and racing sailboats. Neil dedicated many years and much love to the salvation and restoration of the historic Kettenburg PCC, Eulalie a 46' wooden sailboat. Neil received many accolades for his great knowledge and accomplishments in the sport, and went on to found the Classic Yacht Foundation in 2006, bringing together those who shared his life passion. Neil will be remembered for his exceptionally kind and generous spirit, as well as his devotion to, vast knowledge of, and love for sailing.Neil was a loving father and a dedicated businessman who was always willing to assist others in any way he could. Neil is survived by his two daughters, Angela (Bainbridge Island) and Elizabeth (Seattle).At his request, a graveside memorial will be held Saturday, March 9th at Port Blakely Cemetery on Bainbridge Island, twelve noon. Memorials can be made to Fred Hutchinson, or American Lung Association.
