passed away December 14, 2008 in Bremerton. Elizabeth was born into this world on October 6, 1914 at home in New Hampton, Missouri, the fourth child of Garner Franklin Young and Ida Mae Chipp. Eventually her family would grow to 11 children. Elizabeth's father was a farmer by choice, avoiding the indoor offices and the threat of tuberculosis, so prevalent in his family. Mother had many sweet memories growing up in "wolf den", an area south of New Hampton where she and her family scratched out a living on their small farm. Her vivid tales of life during this time were numerous and poured from her clear memory which gifted her up until her death. But times were very hard during the Depression and eventually she elected to move to Los Angeles in 1936, looking for hope and a better life Her thanks will go out forever to the wonderful newlyweds who rescued her from a burned out bus in Denver, Co and drove her all the way to Los Angeles where she linked up with a worried Aunt.On April 22, 1937 she married Russell Clifton Bradbury in San Bernardino, CA and then set up home in Los Angeles and worked until the birth of their first daughter Diane Lynne on August 4, 1939.. Eventually their family grew to include Karen Lee (August 27, 1944) and Steven Michael (November 28, 1945) Elizabeth delighted in her role as a Mother of three. She was devoted to their well-being and prided herself in every one of their accomplishments. Of particular importance to her were her children's Christian upbringing to which she dedicated numerous hours. She was active civically in the Ramona Women's Club, PTA and in the curriculum taught in the local High School. She and Russ were charter members of the 30-60 Dance and Social Club which brought them many friends and hours of pleasure and satisfaction. The Bradbury Family was large and owned and operated two grocery stores in which family members took part. Eventually, Mother was accepted and joined the Los Angeles County Marshall's Office and worked there many years until her retirement in 1979. Her marriage to Russell had ended in 1974. This event was one of the saddest periods of her life.Elizabeth is survived by her children; Lynne (James) Hansen of Provo, Utah; Karen (Doug) LeRoy of Bainbridge Island, WA; and Steve (Joanne) Bradbury of St. George, Utah, twelve grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren by which she was known as "GeeGee"..
