Paul Elmer Shipp

went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2015, with his entire family by his side. He was 80 years of age.Born on August 28, 1935, in Bismarck, ND, Paul was raised by Paul & Elsie Hansen in the Yakima Valley of Washington, and later by Wilson & Eve Hansen in Daly City, CA. After from graduating from Jefferson High School in 1954, Paul served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1961. During that time, he earned several certifications in environmental sciences from U.C. Berkley and the College of San Mateo.He met and married the love of his life, Nancy Tomlinson in 1960. Paul worked for the city of Pacifica, CA, as the Chief Engineer of Public Works for 20 years. The Shipp family moved to Bainbridge Island, WA in 1974, where Paul was the head engineer at New Richmond Laundries until he retired in 1999. He and Nancy enjoyed retirement by taking road trips, gardening, and enjoying their grandchildren.Paul is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy, his children Paul, Jeff (Chrissy), Carrie, Cliff, Rob (Chelsea), and Chris (Ami), and grandchildren Anica, Erica, Jeffy, Annie, Lindsey, Wilson, Eli, Robbie, and Lily. Paul is preceded in death by uncle Wilson Hansen, and daughter-in-law Morgain.
