Paul Stanley Nelson, 70, passed away at his Indianola home after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer on January 8, 2022.
He was born in Winslow, WA on January 14, 1951 and grew up on Bainbridge Island. Paul graduated from BHS in 1969 and Central Washington State College with a BS degree in 1977. After starting his career at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a nuclear safety technician, he worked with private contractors on nuclear power plants across the country until his retirement.
He split time between his homes in Indianola and Ocean Shores, WA. Paul enjoyed meeting with friends and relatives, fishing, clamming, boating, searching for gold and traveling around the world.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John and May Nelson. He is survived by his sister Judy Slawson of Port Hadlock, WA and his brother Ken Nelson of Bainbridge Island, WA as well as nieces, a nephew, grandnieces, grandnephews and many cousins. A celebration of his life will be held later this Spring.
A celebration of life will be held on June 11th, 2022, from 4-7:30pm, at Fay Bainbridge State Park by the beachside picnic shelter.
