All of us were shocked to hear of the death earlier this month. Peter was not just a member but also a friend to us all here at Kowloon Toastmasters Club.Peter, a distinguished toastmaster, was an energetic member who always lightened up the atmosphere of the meetings, who always gave inspiring evaluation to members, who always helped members to grow and to learn, and who will always be remembered.Words are never adequate in moments like these. In simple words, we are sending Peter's family and friends love and light.May his soul rest in peace. To show our respect and heartfelt condolences, may I now invite every one to stand up and remain in silence for 1 minute. The last two weeks haven't been an easy time for us all, especially the Exco, but the one thing i can say is that Peter would be very proud of the way that everyone has been pulled together and united in their support. May I take this opportunity to thank my team especially Bruce, Nanna and Judy who have been contacting with Peter's friend and sister and the HK police to make sure that things are in good hands. Before I move on, I would like to share with you all a poem, Love lives on by Amanda Bradley. Those we love are never really lost to us--we feel them in so many special ways--through friends they always cared aboutand dreams they left behind,in beauty that they added to our days...in words of wisdom we still carry with usand memories that never will be gone...Those we loveare never really lost to us--for everywhere their special love lives on. Nothing was more important to Peter than those close to him, so let's keep close to each other and do what he would want. Peter is so alive in every single one of us and between us we have so many amazing memories to share, so let's just keep sharing them and enjoying them. He would want us to be happy and enjoy the meetings always. His laughter was always loud and infectious. So I guess Peter would say "Don't forget to laugh and when you do laugh, don't feel guilty because you are supposed to be mourning for me, laugh because I am still here with you all, laugh because i can hear you.'I am sure we will carry Peter with us in every meeting, this isn't goodbye, it's just a different kind of hello! In memory of Peter, the theme of the meeting this evening is changed to "Moments" and there will be an extended Table Topics Session, specially dedicated to Peter. So let's take a moment to laugh those tears away by remembering some of Peter's silliest moments with us. May I now pass the time to Helen who will take us to the moments."
