Philip Mccrudden

d. November 15, 2010

our Dearest Daddy passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus after a year long battle with colon cancer. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up on the Main Line. His fondest memories of childhood were of summers at Brant Beach on the Jersey Shore and discovery of his passion for skiing and mountain climbing while attending the Eglon Academy in Switzerland. After attending various prep schools, he left home and lived on his own during his high school years. He attended Miquon Upper School by night and was a carpenter's apprentice by day. He was also an accomplished guitarist. He left the east coast in the early 1970's and traveled around the western United States, eventually settling in Seattle for a time. He then moved north to Alaska where he lived for many years. On one of his many sojourns to the "outside" in Seattle, he met the love of his life, Judith Ann Law. They got married on a beautiful snowy day in 1985 in Homer, Alaska. They were blessed with 2 wonderful children Christina and Wyatt. Phil worked as a general contractor in Alaska and eventually bought a fishing permit that placed him on a lifelong path of working in the fishing industry with emphasis in marine regulatory and casualty work that continued until his passing.Phil's amazing intellect, his breadth and depth of knowledge on almost any subject, made him a stimulating and sometimes intimidating friend, partner, and father. Woe to those on Jeopardy! What mattered most to our beloved husband and father was his love of Jesus, his wife and best friend, his kids and his German Short-Haired Pointers, Cody and Heidi. He also cared deeply for his friends and associates in all his many business dealings and travels through life. He leaves, in his wake, many bereft family members who mourn his premature death, but accept the Lord's ways are not their own. Thank you Jesus for saving our dear Pops. You are now completely healed, living in your heavenly hunting lodge, with a big tricked out shop in back. Love you always. Any amount of time on this earth will pale in comparison to a perfect eternity with you. Miss you. See you soon.A gathering to remember Phil will take place December 5th from 1-6pm at Kiana Lodge, 14976 Sandyhook Road NE Poulsbo WA 98370, phone number 206-282-4633 or 360-598-4311. Bring your stories, bring yourselves, all are welcome. Fireworks at the end. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made at any Wells Fargo branch to the Philip McCrudden Family Memorial Fund to support the education of his kids.
