passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at her home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She was born on August 31, 1941 and was 74 years of age.Polly was also known as "Grandpocky". She was a resident of Bainbridge Island for over 25 years and a familiar face in the community. Polly lived in many places in her life including Texas, Mississippi, Michigan and Singapore, but she always considered Bainbridge Island her forever home. She loved the mountains, the water and even the Northwest rain. She was a Chef by trade and a wonderful cook. Her recipes, that are impossible to duplicate, will be missed.She was a master writer of poems received in cards that were given to her friends and family for any special occasions. Her infectious laugh, awesome sense of humor and wonderful personality will be missed. She was a mother to many and a best friend to us all.Polly is survived by her children: Laura Harrison of Bainbridge Island, WA, Eric Crider of Florida and Jennifer Ricklin of Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Kasey Harrison of Seattle, WA, Megan Woolwine of Maryland and Nathan Ricklin of Colorado. Polly also leaves behind her great-granddaughter Roxanna Ricklin of Colorado and her brothers; John and Tom Hooper of Bainbridge Island, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; John Butler Hooper and Margaret Pauline Fagan Hooper.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church, 105 Winslow Way, Bainbridge Island.
