Rene Sellman

77, died at her residence on Bainbridge Island on February 21, 2016.Rene was born in Munich, Germany on October 6, 1938 to Hans and Alwine Spannagl. She moved to Vancouver, WA when she was 18. It was there that she met Gene Sellman, who she later married on September 11, 1960. Together they owned a small chain of hotels in the greater Vancouver area which they ran until retirement in 1980. Upon retiring, Rene and Gene built a home in Ocean Park, WA where she lived until shortly after Gene's passing in 2008. She spent the last 5 ½ years at the Wyatt House Assisted Living on Bainbridge Island, WA.Rene is survived by her sons, Greg Sellman of Kirkland, and his wife, Danette Sellman; Mike Sellman of Bainbridge Island, and his wife, Tamara Sellman; her grandsons, Broderick Sellman and Tanner Sellman, and her granddaughters, Amanda Sellman and Megan Sellman. A memorial service will be held at the Wyatt House on April 2nd at 10:00am.
