passed away on Tuesday evening, October 23, 2007 at Island Health & Rehabilitation on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was 68 years of age and born on .Richard was born to Harold E and Leona Potter in Tyler, Texas on July 28, 1939. He graduated from John Tyler High School, 1958 and North Texas State University, 1963. Potter worked as design engineer for Zales Corp, sales manager for Western United States Poly Pipe Industry, tour guide at Safeco Field and most recently, real estate agent for Prudential NW, Poulsbo.He enjoyed dancing, hiking, dog walking and training, tour cycling, painting, photography. He was an integral part of Educated Feet dance family on Bainbridge Island. He volunteered at Make a Wish Foundation, Wildlife Shelter, Humane Society and Habitat for Humanity.Richard is survived by son, Richard Potter of Tyler, Texas and daughter Kim Gaston of Burleson, Texas; sister Joan & husband, John Stout of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Lucas, Amanda, Brittany and Courtney and his island family, Sheila Phillips, Jerry Ringenberg, Keith Phillips and Eryn Cohen.Services will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 28 at St Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island [Map]. A reception follows at Island Center Hall 3:30 pm. Memorial gifts may be sent to Bainbridge Island Helpline, Island Wildlife Rehab Center, Hospice of Kitsap County.Arrangements are being handled Cook Family Funeral Home.
