born January 29, 1929, passed quietly on May 9th at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle where he was being treated for congenital heart failure.Bob, an island resident since 1975, was born in Quincy, Illinois and relocated with his family to Long Beach, California as a young child. There, at Poly Tech High School, Bob cultivated his love of performing-- on stage and in the broadcasting booth. After graduating, Bob journeyed by bus to New York City where he lived from 1950-1956, modeling, working off-broadway and in summer stock along side VIncent Price, Walter Matthau, and Angela Lansbury before returning to Los Angeles where he married his wife Barbara and began a second career in technical illustration and later as a documentation specialist for Lockheed. Bob is probably remembered best by Islanders for his work both onstage and behind the scenes at Bainbridge Performing Arts, where he served as Board President and played many roles, including Ebeneezer Scrooge. He is survived by his children David (BHS ‘87), who lives in New York, and Ann (BHS ‘83) who, with his grandchild Emma Jean, live in the Bay Area.
