died at age 69 in December 2014 after a short illness.He had traveled the world in his youth living in Delaware, New Zealand, East Pakistan, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Texas and Lebanon. In the 1960's he settled in Seattle. After earning BA and Masters degrees at the University of Washington he then worked for the UW until retirement in 2011. He was director of IT for the Department of Surgery UW School of Medicine and a Research Scientist in vascular disease research. He relocated to Bainbridge Island about 2 years ago.He is survived by his wife and best friend, Lynn Bergelin, and lovely dog Lily. There will be a celebratory BobFest in June for his closest friends. Contributions in his memory can be made to his favorite non-profit - KPLU radio.
