Ross Alan Olsen a lifelong resident of Bainbridge Island passed away Saturday October 27, 2018. Born on the island November 20, 1960 he was the son of the late Rodney G. and Winifred L. (Loomis) Olsen and was 57 years of age.
Ross attended the local schools on Bainbridge and graduated from Bainbridge High School Class of 1978. Ross worked for the Bainbridge Island Disposal Company for over 20 years as the overseer of the Island's waste site. He later started his own business doing small engine repair followed by working at the Bainbridge Island Library and also Bainbridge Cinema's.
Ross enjoyed life and also enjoyed being a part of St. Cecelia's Parish where he attended Mass every Sunday as well as local organizations including the Sons of Norway, and the American Legion Post 172. He also enjoyed hobbies such as CB Radio's, D - Derby Cars, and loved the Rodeo and assisting with the Toys for Tots Drive each year at Bainbridge Cinema's.
Ross was physically challenged his whole life, but he never saw himself as different because he was never treated that way. He was an inspiration to countless people who knew him and he will be sadly missed by everyone he ever had contact with throughout his life.
He is survived by his cousin; Misty, his Aunt Jannyce Thompson of Gig Harbor, his second cousins, Amanda Walganski and Dylan Lanphere.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Mass of Resurrection on Wednesday November 14, 2018 at 9:00 am in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church 1310 Madison Avenue N Bainbridge Island, WA followed by a reception at St. Cecelia Parish Conger Hall. Interment will be held privately by the family.
