Scott Taylor Macgregor

d. May 7, 2008

age 61, died suddenly on May 7, 2008, while riding his bicycle near his family home on Bainbridge Island, WA. He was born April 7, 1947, in Redwing MN to Alan and Margaret MacGregor, who have preceded him in death. Scott was a long time resident of Bainbridge Island, where he raised his son and daughter, Matt and Sirianna MacGregor. His wife of 39 years, Julie, has been at his side since their college days at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Scott earned a Masters of Architecture and Urban Planning in 1972 at the University of Washington. He recently earned a Master of Science in Project Management from City University. He was a licensed architect most recently with Art Anderson Associates of Bremerton and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Scott truly found joy in every day and shared that positive spirit with all who knew him.Scott was an avid sailboat racer and a member of PMYC. He shared his love of sailing and design with his children and others. Scott enjoyed singing with the Bainbridge Chorale and participating in other musical events as a trombonist. He built his solar home for his family with his own hands and worked for several years in Anchorage AK as a solar architect. He was always learning and expanding his talents. Scott was willing to solve building or planning issues for family and friends and took great delight in helping. A former art teacher, he continued to draw during travels with his wife and documented these precious times in pen and ink. Skiing, hiking, biking, building, cooking, gardening , as well as sailing were all part of his full life. Traveling Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, and commuting by speed boat were great fun for Scott and his friends. He reveled in his latest work in marine and boat design while at Art Anderson as Design Manager and found great satisfaction in his work,, both projects and colleagues.
