Susan K. Camacho (Minder) was born February 5, 1958, in Bremerton, WA. She passed away on March 8, 2025, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Silverdale, WA; she was 66 years old.

Susan was one of seven children born to James and Carolyn Minder. Susan and the other children grew up on Minder Road in Poulsbo, WA. Susan was a 1977 graduate of North Kitsap High School.

Susan is survived by a son, Francisco (Tonya) Camacho of Airway Heights, WA, and Tiffany Camacho of Stockton, CA. Her grandchildren include Karla Camarillo-Camacho and Adrian Camarillo-Camacho of Bremerton, WA, and Regina Camacho of Airway Heights, WA.

Susan spent her early years in Poulsbo, WA. She married Frank Camacho, March 20, 1981, and moved to Kent, WA, where they were married for 28 years. She was also employed for several years in the Kent School District as a Paraeducator. She loved her teaching position and the community she had built there. She always spoke very highly of her associates and her students, even saving special mementos all these years after her retirement.

Susan was an avid gardener. Her favorite flowers were roses and Black Eyed Susans. Susan loved road trips to Montana, where her parents were born and raised, to visit family still in that area. She also enjoyed visiting family members in Oregon. She was also a fighter with multiple bouts of cancer and the long-lasting effects for 48 years.

Susan is also survived by a sister, Carrie McLaughlin of Poulsbo, WA, and five brothers: Alfred (Cade) Minder of Austin, TX, James (Shannon) Minder of Port Orchard, WA, Michael (Susan) Minder of Bremerton, WA, Patrick (Donna) Minder of Golden Valley, AZ, and George (Russy) Minder of Poulsbo, WA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Susan will be at the St. Olaf’s Catholic Church in Poulsbo on Friday, April 25th, with rosary reading starting at 11 a.m., service and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org.
