Theodore Moran 04/10/1945 to 02/29/2020
Theodore (Ted) Moran was born to Louis Moran and Catherine Anderson Moran, April 10, 1945. He was a member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam tribe and a lifelong Kitsap County resident and a 30 year Suquamish resident. On December 11, 1982, he married his wife, Deborah and she remained by his side until the end.
He came from a very large family and enjoyed spending time with them all. He had two daughters and three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also made friends wherever he went.
Ted worked as a clamdigger, fisherman, logger, ironworker, jack of all trades and a card dealer at the Clearwater Casino. He retired from the Clearwater in 2007. He was also an artist and spent one week each year as the guest artist at the Colter Bay Visitor Center in Grand Teton National Park.
Besides pursuing his art during retirement, he spent time camping, fishing, hunting mushrooms and playing with his dogs. He was a member of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Olive, Pat and Tina and brothers Douglas, Walter, Skip, Sonnie, Paul, John and two that were unnamed.
He is survived by his wife, daughters Josephine (Adam) and Crystal (Josh), grandchildren Kasey, Kyle and Kimber, and great grandchildren Elijah, Eva, Karder and Kaiden, sisters Lucy Abrahamson and Shirley Gresham, brother Louis. brother of the heart, David McArdle, dogs Kwu yuh chin and Ska hah and many many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The previously scheduled Celebration of Life has been temporarily postponed. The family will reschedule at a later date.
At his request, his ashes will be spread near his favorite fishing grounds later this summer.
