"Tosh" passed away peacefully on August 4, 2007 at Island Health & Rehabiliation Center on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was 85 years of age.Tosh was born on April 3, 1922, in Seattle, WA to Harry Teikichi Kawanishi and Fusa Tomikawa. He grew up in Seattle, graduated from Garfield High School and attended University of Washington until his internment at the Minidoka Relocation Center during WWII. After relocating to Minneapolis, Minnesota he returned to Seattle and started his own business, Admiral Way Auto Rebuild in West Seattle. He retired to Bainbridge Island in 1990. Tosh was member of the Pudget Sound Golf Club, Mint Golf Club, Senior's Golf Club, MIS Northwest and the Nisei Veterans Committee.He is survived by his sisters, Alice Kawanishi and Irene Sakaguchi and his niece Mika Sakaguchi-Peart.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Graveside Service on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle (map).
