William Earl Barrow

January 29, 1935 — August 7, 2021

William (Bill) E. Barrow: 01/29/1935-08/07/2021

Bill was born in Seattle, Washington on January 29, 1935. A lifelong resident of the Puget Sound area, he watched Seattle grow from the small city it was, to the metropolis it is today. He told stories of riding the Seattle streetcars as a boy and taking the ski train from King Street Station to Snoqualmie Pass, where he met lifelong friends.

Bill graduated from Franklin High School in 1953; enlisted in the Navy the following spring; then attended the University of Washington on the GI bill, where he received a degree in Business.

Bill met the love of his life in 1959, started a family, and found his career in Real Estate. Bill migrated to Bainbridge Island in 1965, where he continued to list and sell properties until his last days. He was proud say that he had seen or been in every house on the Island.

He was active in the Bainbridge Island community through the Kiwanis Club; and the Chamber of Commerce.

Bill was a lifelong UW Husky fan and a 60-year season ticket holder. He spent Saturdays in the Fall tailgating and watching Husky football with his friends and family. The rest of the year, he spent his free time skiing the slopes of the Cascades, chasing salmon in the waters of Puget Sound and British Columbia, and walking the beaches of Maui.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol; their two sons; 4 grandchildren, and his sister, Julie.

Memorial Donations can be made to the Bainbridge Island Kiwanis Club, Bill Barrow Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 10602, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island, WA.
