William G. Crane

April 25, 1942 — September 8, 2020

Dr. William G Crane passed on September 8, 2020 in his home on Bainbridge Island surrounded by loved ones. Bill was born in Newark, New Jersey on April 25 ,1942. He was a devoted husband to Bettyanne, married for 56 years and together 60 years. Together they had six beautiful children Colleen, Billy, Tommy, Heather, Jon, and Meghan. Grandfather to Tommy Jr., Jessica, Kelly, Clare, Sean, Anna, and Liam, Great-grandfather to Rohen, Kaden and Ashlyn.

Bill dedicated his life to helping and serving others. He was an educator for 43 years, Dean of faulty, head of guidance, taught earth sciences, physics, math, and history. He will be remembered by students and colleagues for a lifetime because of his enthusiasm to share knowledge and to inspire young minds.

Bill was a collector of books and spent so much of his time dedicated to scholarly pursuits and furthering his life long education. He was an avid runner, and committed to healthy living. Bill was a man of action. He lived with intention, purpose and put those things he valued into practice.

Most of all he was truly loving, he loved his wife and family dearly and made a meaningful impact on all those around him. His kindness, understanding and compassion radiated his being. He was a positive force and made any situation that was troublesome an opportunity to learn and grow. Bill loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor.

Bill will be so deeply missed, may he now reside at peace in the cosmos and offer his guidance from above.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
